How it works

From incident to action in under 60 seconds

SENTRI is a four-step loop: report, verify, alert, and check in. Every step is logged, every actor accountable.

01

Incident reporting

Reports are timestamped and geo-tagged. Duplicate reports for the same area within 30 minutes are automatically clustered.

A resident or patrol officer opens the SENTRI app and taps "Report incident".

They select the incident type (security, fire, medical, flooding, suspicious activity) and the GPS location is captured automatically.

Optional: attach a photo and a short description. The report is submitted instantly.

02

Verification by coordinators

Only verified or escalated incidents can trigger a community-wide alert, preventing false alarms.

The Ward Lead or Estate Coordinator receives a real-time notification of every new report in their area.

They review the report and mark it: Unverified → Verified or Escalated.

Escalated reports are forwarded to Zone Managers or the national admin, creating a full chain of accountability.

03

Alert dispatch

Critical and High-severity alerts trigger a full-screen takeover on mobile until the recipient checks in.

The coordinator composes an alert: title, message (up to 320 characters), severity level, and target communities.

Push notifications reach every app-registered resident in under 5 seconds.

Residents without the app (or with no data) receive an SMS fallback automatically.

04

Community check-in

Check-in data is visible only to assigned coordinators and above. Residents see only their own status.

Each alert prompts recipients to check in: Safe, Unsafe, Displaced, or Needs help.

Coordinators see a live dashboard showing check-in rates and welfare status across their community.

The full audit trail — who reported, who verified, who was alerted, who checked in — is stored securely.
